    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I have really enjoyed my internship. Not only it gave me the chance of getting engaged in what of the major business in the world, but also it made me meet different people around the world. Furthermore, the values I got to know through my summer internship really inspired me and motivated me. JpMorgan is not only a bank, but an inspiring social entity. Together with 'clients first', I would definitely define 'employees first' as one of Jp's mottos.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I have had the unique opportunity of getting part of a stimulating team which supported me since the day of my entrance in the firm. Through advices, frequent calls and social activities, my team has shown an extreme dedication to my summer internship. Interacting with such talented people and having the real chance of learning from them has been one of the main reasons why I really enjoyed my summer time spent at JP Morgan.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My supervisors have been fantastic in providing me with all the tools I needed for the internship. Moreover, they have taught me not only technicalities linked to my job, but also how to approach an amazing firm such as JpMorgan. Motivating me to get in touch with as many people as possible, always incentivising me to ask as many questions as I needed and giving me frequent feedback, my supervisors have concretely contributed to my growth within the firm.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Being it a summer internship, it was really intense. However, intensity does not imply a lack of work-life balance. On the other hand, the amount of work we had to do on daily basis was really balanced and left the space to interns to get engaged in many further activities such as trainings or conference calls. Therefore, I would say that i was quite close to a perfect balance through the summer I have spent with the firm.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • One of the things i have appreciated the most of the internship has been the amount of independence my managers gave me, and how this responsibility was combined with a perpetual support by them. We created a really equilibrated relationship in which my managers were in the position of leaving me many responsibilities and I felt free to ask as many questions as I wanted to satisfy my intellectual curiosity with regards to the job I was discovering.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • By now, I have spent just a few months at university after the end of the internship. During this timespan, I have seen how JpMorgan has helped me not only from an academic perspective (making me much more knowledgeable about the financial field), but also from a social perspective. In fact, the internship has definitely had an impact on soft skills. This is something I really appreciate: JpMorgan not only contributed to my professional growth, but also shaped many of the skills I aim at developing even more throughout my life.
