The Role
I interned for the Digital Strategy Group in the UK and it was highly enjoyable. The team is friendly and the client engagement projects are diverse and interesting. More importantly, there is a strong culture of mentorship and feedback from the industry leads and engagement managers that helped me learn a lot.
During team meetings, everyone is given the opportunity to speak. And more importantly, they listen. The practice director is a strong proponent of inclusivity, which also helps a lot. And this is supported by the organisation’s emphasis on diversity and inclusion, as well as showing kindness during these trying times.
It is often difficult to balance between micromanagement and being too hands off. I think they do it well in my team. The industry leads and engagement managers I work with knew when to give me direction and feedback, and when to let me define the direction I want to take my work. More importantly, there’s constant constructive discussion throughout projects, as opposed to one-sided issue of directions.
I was given opportunities to own specific work streams on projects with my managers guiding me in the background. I’m completely new to consulting so it was difficult for me to run the show on my own.
The Company
It’s a virtual internship due to the pandemic but there are many tools within Adobe to stay connected with the organisation and the team. I think Adobe has managed to express its creative DNA well virtually - there’s always something exciting or new happening on the employee engagement front. And I love the emphasis on the need to be kind to each other during difficult times
There’s so much online materials to help you ramp up on your role and to understand the organisation better. And people are mostly willing to speak to you and share more about their roles to help you learn.

The Culture
Adobe’s main office is in Old Street, which has been gentrified. But there are cheap eats around the area.
Old Street/ Shoreditch has great pubs and restaurants.
