About You
I very much enjoyed the virtual Commercial Analyst Internship offered by Centrica. The engagement sessions were professionally organised and delivered, offering the chance to continue my professional development.
Throughout the experience I felt incredibly valued by all of the Centrica employees involved. There was continuous contact throughout the experience, with swift replies to any queries.
I received a series of engagement sessions covering analytical skills with an assessed task, life as a graduate and further insight into the operations of Centrica. I was paired with a graduate mentor for the analysis activities and was able to receive a lot of guidance from him about the transition into working life.
The skills and information I gained over the experience will be directly applicable to projects I am undertaking in my master’s year of a Chemical Engineering degree. They will also be key in my professional development along with the softer skills developed.
The Company
The virtual experience was very well structured and organised with weekly engagement sessions for a period of time.
The general atmosphere was positive with friendly engagement and a genuine commitment to the participants.
The company invested in my personal development by committing to deliver the experience through the COVID-19 pandemic.
The experience delivered several sessions covering the role of graduates within the company and the general operations of the company. This helped me build a clear vision of what a full time role would look like.
There was engagement from several internal groups and committees within the company, giving a good insight into company culture.
The content showed me that I would be suited to, and enjoy, a career as an analyst therefore it was a very valuable experience.
Everything Else
I received a good will payment after cancellation of the formal paid internship scheme and expenses incurred during assessment days were reimbursed.
There were a good variety of employees involved with the engagement sessions allowing for good networking.
As a virtual experience there were not any social events.
During the experience we learned about life as a graduate within the company including activities they can get involved with outside of work.
I would absolutely recommend this virtual experience to anyone.
