The Role
Great company to work for. Provided an abundance of opportunities to develop as a professional.
Every member of L'Oréal was/is friendly and approachable. Questions were encouraged and answered with clarity. I believe L'Oréal's members greatly improved my interpersonal skills throughout the year.
Management helped me every step of the way. My supervisor's door was always open if needed, and other managers provided specialist support when required.
L'Oréal is a proactive company. There are always tasks to be completed. If you're a hard worker, it does not go unnoticed!
L'Oréal provides an abundance of opportunity to showcase your talent. I was fortunate enough to operate the 'gifting project'; being in charge of the smooth flow of stock in and out of a warehouse. Later on in the year, I was provided the chance to present to key stakeholders in the business, relating to Transport cost data I had been analysing. This opened the door to improve communication skills, whilst giving solutions on how to reduce costs.
In conclusion of my year at L'Oréal, it's safe to say I have developed vastly as a professional within the supply chain environment. To extend, I believe through L'Oréal's culture and stakeholders, my interpersonal skills have seen great improvement. These skills will reflect at University through the online seminars. Although the unprecedented change to communicating through screens has occurred, I have adapted quickly due to the experiences I have had at whilst being a part of L'Oréal.
The Company
From day one, my supervisor talked me through the projects I'd be involved in, including the time-frame, expectations and end result. This benefitted my working culture as I understood the reason to complete the projects and the outcomes of missing deadlines.
Throughout the year, L'Oréal provided additional learning activities to be involved in. I was sent to London (I was based at the Trafford DC) 3 times to receive training / talks. L'Oréal paid / reimbursed any money I spent on the day (i.e. travel & food). Further, L'Oréal give each employee access to 3 courses / year on coursera, allowing employees to improve in any area they believe fit. Personally I reaped this benefit through the completion of 2 excel courses. :)

I've been fortunate enough to secure a Graduate role on the MT scheme (Supply chain). I look forward to advancing my career under the L'Oréal name!
The Culture
It's difficult to comment due to being 1 of 2 interns based at the Trafford DC. However, when visiting London, all interns were lovely, and I still keep in contact with a few of them now!
The cost of living was relatively cheap as I was based in Manchester. There were many social activities to be a part of, such as rock climbing and football!
Not a fan of Manchester night life, however day drinking is great fun! I'd recommend a 40-minute train to Liverpool for night life (when corona allows!).
Again, it's difficult one to comment on. I already play football so didn't have a lot of free time!
