The Role
I thought it was really good and exciting with plenty of fresh opportunities to get involved with all aspects of the business. The Co-op are a great business to work with as you instantly feel part of a team and are encouraged to develop and test yourself. Every day something different would crop up and it meant that I was always involved with something new. I would definitely recommend this placement to anyone who is interested in the retail world.
The Co-op are a great business to work with as you instantly feel part of a team and are encouraged to develop and test yourself. My colleagues always made me feel valued by listening to what I had to say in team meetings to asking my opinion when it came to different projects and general tasks to do.
Every day something different would crop up and it meant that I was always involved with something new and therefore my manager would always be there to support me and answer any questions I had. Furthermore the whole team are great for supporting you through the projects and tasks and you know that they are only at the end of the phone should you need any help. This is fantastic support that is much appreciated.
I was always busy on a daily basis but if ever my workload became too much I knew there was support from my team to create the perfect balance.
I was given a lot of responsibility during my placement and it was completely depend on how much of a lead I wanted to take in various projects and tasks. I was allowed to lead on numerous areas and this really meant that I developed during the placement. I therefore gained a lot of practical skills that will be of use to me in later life. I was also aided by a significant amount of training that I was given and encouraged to take part in.

The team actively encouraged me to pursue studies and courses beyond my placement and to constantly increase my personal development.
