About You
I really enjoyed the virtual experience, the whole team made a noticeable effort to make sure we still got a good feel of the firm despite the experience being online.
I felt very valued while on the scheme. I was given ample time to talk to my supervisor and trainee buddy and to ask plenty of questions.
I was fully supported throughout the experience from individuals across the firm. At not point did I feel unable to ask for guidance.
It was quite a short scheme but I still believe I was able to gain real world insight into the work of a corporate lawyer.
The Company
The virtual experience was very well structured, with a range of different activities taking place throughout the day and a good amount of 'check in' opportunities with supervisors.
I appreciated the chance to attend social events with my cohort, and also liked that the working day was broken up with interesting lunch time seminars. I think this created a good atmosphere were everyone felt welcome and comfortable during the virtual experience.
There werent any formal training opportunities but I did feel that the fee-earners I spoke with were given ample time to dedicate to supervising and guiding trainees.
I believe the virtual experience was very insightful and gave a good picture of the company culture and trainee expectations
Although I didnt have the chance to see the Dentons team working together in their offices, I was able to ask my supervisors and trainee buddies about their experience with the firm which helped me feel quite confident about my understanding of the firm culture
This virtual experience cemented my desire to become a city corporate lawyer and to take up a TC offer with Dentons. It was my first experience with a global corporate law firm and it was extremely valuable to be able to see for myself the day-to-day work of a Dentons lawyer.
Everything Else
There were limited networking events but I got ample time to discuss all my questions with a trainee buddy which I thought was really important.
The virtual format meant the social opportunities were a bit limited, but I was impressed by how much I enjoyed the virtual treasure hunt and some of the informal calls I had with my cohort.
