    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the virtual experience?
  • I didn't know what to expect (and almost didn't go) but was very impressed by the extent to which the content was both targetted (towards making job or internship applications and the amendments that can be made for disabilities) and general (applicable to application processes at many companies) without feeling dull or verbose. If another session arises I will recommend it to family and friends with learning difficulties as even if they are in gainful employment it may help their career development.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • Although it was a short session I felt very valued.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the virtual experience?
  • The session was quite short so not a great deal of guidance was needed but when an individual had computer difficulties the hosts were very happy to talk through it. This certainly contributed to the supportive atmosphere. We were given frequent opportunities to ask questions. The hosts and guest speakers were always happy to answer in a way that was respectfully thorough. The organisers were happy to assist via email before and after the meeting which I greatly appreciate.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The hosts really hit the mark in this session with the content provided in this session. Every segment was highly relevant to the application process, not just at the FCA but at other employers as well; [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyPlacement Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] experience working at other companies (and now in HR at the FCA) was certainly a bonus in this regard. I'll see how they benefit me going forward but this session has certainly reinvigorated my job search for the time being.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the virtual experience?
  • The session had a clear structure which was mentioned at the start and we followed this well with impromptu breaks for questions. We overran by a few minutes, but in my experience, that's to be expected with virtual meetings. At no point did I feel lost or as though something had come up that I wasn't expecting. I think this helped to contribute to the supporting atmosphere in this session. A synopsis in the form of a collection of notes from this session would be an asset to the employability website.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The company (the fca) invested it's employees' time and energy into us with specific expertise in the application process coming out. This helped with my understanding of what it would be like to work at the FCA (something I previously had no experience of) and greatly improved my knowledge of the application process not just for the FCA but to other employers as well. Overall I was impressed with the values of inclusivity and diversity the FCA embodies.
