The Role
My year long placement was definitely enjoyable due to the wonderful mixture of the work and culture. I learnt so much over the 12 months and got to work on some interesting projects.
From the very start I was treated as a colleague rather than just a placement student, which I really appreciated
There's constant support available from not just your manager, but also from the placement/Emerging Talent team, as well as a grad buddy
How busy you are can vary time to time. Sometimes I had a lot of work and sometimes I had quiet days, but overall it was a good balance. As long as you keep your team aware of if you have too much/too little work, you will find a good balance
You get given quite a lot of responsibility. I was able to lead on projects and take on solo projects whilst constantly supporting my team to deliver results
The Company
As a placement student you have development days which are focussed entirely on expanding your skillsets. You, as well as all other colleagues, will set objectives to ensure you get the most out of your placement/job and are continuing to grow. There's also the opportunity to complete short courses on either improving soft skills or technical skills/knowledge
