The Role
An enjoyable and incredibly useful week- just wish it was longer!
My supervisor made a big effort to ensure that I was introduced to the whole department and I was fortunate enough to receive work from around six or seven different people. Both aspects helped me feel a part of the team.
Everybody that I received work from took time to explain the process to me. I would perhaps of also liked an explanation of the bigger picture at times, such as how an individual task (such as completing a Land Registry form) impacts the overall transaction or how the department functions as a unit.
I was kept very busy which was great!
I felt that after my supervisor had realised what I was capable of, he trusted me with typical trainee tasks such as scheduling, Land Registry form completion, legal research and proof reading. I genuinely felt that I was been given responsibility and contributing which was great.
Very much so. It has confirmed the size and location of firm that I wish to train in, and also a practice area that I am interested in.
The Company
There was a genuine collegiate feel to my department with trainees, associates and even partners working together in a friendly atmosphere.
Very well organised. The Project Nabarro was a nice touch which I enjoyed.
In my department I was trained in many typical trainee tasks. The two members of the firm that had interviewed me for my vacation scheme earlier in the year kindly made the effort to meet me during the week to discuss how it was going and answer any questions that I had, which was a really nice touch.

Company Parties/Events
There is a high recruitment rate of trainee solicitors from the firm's vacation schemes. I am still awaiting the outcome of mine and have my fingers crossed!
The Culture
Everybody on the scheme was very friendly and made the effort to attend the social event on the scheme. As the scheme was only five days long, it made socialising with our fellow placement students after work more difficult and perhaps we would have benefited from a slightly longer scheme for this.
London is of course pricey, but to be expected.
The pub that we went to for the pub quiz was great but couldn't really say beyond that.
Again, because the scheme was only one week long it was pretty intense and packed with activities which made activities outside of work hours more difficult.
