About You
Despite the in-person internship being unable to go ahead, the team at Centrica put in an enormous amount of effort to schedule fun group calls consistently throughout the summer, which really helped us get to know the other interns and current team (albeit virtually)!
I feel as though the company have really cared about maintaining contact with all the interns and have valued our feedback throughout to make sure we're getting most out of the group sessions. The Business Management team, specifically, have kept regular contact with us - via email, video and phone calls - enabling us to ask questions and learn more about the graduate programme.
The team have been so helpful by introducing us to a number of people from different areas of Centrica - enabling us to see just how many opportunities there are within the company. Beyond the virtual experience in the summer, the team have maintained regular contact with the interns - even scheduling a online session offering tips and advice for studying in final year at university.
I think the online experience offered by Centrica has enabled personal development in a number of key areas. Regular video calls has, for example, helped improve my navigation of Teams and communication in group calls. I think it has also really highlighted the value of being part of a team as I have got to know a number of people working within the Business Management department, who I feel I could now easily contact if I needed any advice.
The Company
I think the team at Centrica has put in a lot of effort to schedule regular calls throughout the summer until now and has provided us with lots of notice to ensure we can all make them. We have had calls roughly once every month from June, when the in-person internship would've begun. Everything has been so well-organised with contact maintained via email, phone adn video calls.
The team have been really enthusiastic, balancing informative sessions with fun activities like quizzes and icebreaker sessions. Despite not being able to meet in-person, I feel as though I know the team and the other interns well, if not better than I would otherwise!
Everything Else
We were given a goodwill payment for the internship being cancelled. Regular group calls were scheduled throughout the summer, despite the internship not going ahead.
