The Role
It was a fantastic experience.
I was really surprised by the effort everyone made with me. I was only in the department for a week, but I managed to talk to most people and everyone seemed very genuine and friendly. Despite how busy the Partner was, who I shared a room with, he really made an effort to involve me in his work and talk me through the several transactions he was working on.
The team at Nabarro were very supportive, from the induction, to the graduate recuitment team, to my supervisor. I felt people were there if I needed them and the open door policy I had read about at the firm definately lived up to expectations.
I did feel that the week was very busy and it was difficult to balance all the different tasks from the department, supervisors and Project Nabarro. At least it gave me a realistic insight into life as a solicitor!
I really felt that my input was valued with the members of the firm I worked alongside and I was given great responsibility, even talking to clients and making sure documents were signed.
I now have a great working insight into life at a top city law firm and will have more confidence when talking about the proffession and the realities of daily life.
The Company
I definately saw how demanding the work can be, but it was never 'dull' or 'tedious' even from an outsiders perspective. The work was engaging, interesting and I saw the passion of the lawyers involved. The social activities were very entertaining.
The placement was well organised, though because we were the first Easter placement it was apparent that everyone was getting used to the lack of time available for inductions etc.

Company Parties/Events
I really hope I get offered the training contract. The great experience I had at Nabarro's has made it clear how much I would like to pursue a career with the firm.
The Culture
The socials were well attended and there was definately a perfect balance between work and events.
