About You
I had a great time and learnt so much about the firm and what it might be like to work as a trainee.
I had lots of catch up calls with lawyers and graduate recruitment. There a lot of opportunities for feedback, which made me feel like the firm cared about out development.
A lot of communication about the tasks and structure of the scheme. A chat service was used for any questions, which was helpful to the whole group.
Helped me differentiate between different practice areas and the style of work I would prefer. Networking virtually is another skill I developed.
The Company
Very well structured and a lot of clear communication from the firm about changes in light of COVID which was reassuring and helped me prepare.
Really friendly and collaborative. The socials like a virtual cooking class and virtual yoga over zoom were really fun and brought the group together.
We had a pre-scheme social with the Smarty Train which prepared us with little hacks about working life and tips on how to adjust to a virtual format.
The tasks on InsideSherpa involved a good level of challenge and the fact we had to prioritise a lot reflected real life.
The virtual social sessions helped a lot and we had talks from the pro-bono team, community outreach team and the different Diversity networks, including the Global Inclusion Lead.
Really helpful, outlined the different potential next steps.
Everything Else
Many opportunities before, during and after the 3 day scheme.
Informal speed networking, virtual live cooking class with a professional chef, virtual live yoga session with a professional instructor.
We had talks from the pro-bono, community outreach and diversity networks and spoke to the trainee committee about social events they have been involved in
