The Role
Very exciting work, rewarding to have worked on a couple of projects that met a real business need.
Colleagues were very supportive and provided necessary training at the start of the internship. I was given useful and constructive feedback throughout the process. My colleagues also clearly appreciated the boost in productivity that the three interns created by doubling the team size!
Exceptionally kind mentor who would often take time off his own tasks to help me out
Autodesk company culture makes it simple to do a sensible amount of work without overloading
I was given agency to do my own tasks, these were allocated based on collaborative discussion about which skills we could bring to each task. Accountability on task completion using Jira.
Computing skills not directly relevant to Mech. Eng., but the knowledge I picked up about machining will be invaluable in certain modules.
The Company
Great work culture without too much pressure. Hampered by remote working and COVID
Well organised
C++ training to start the internship, and constant help and advice from more experienced developers
Working from home
Was offered a place on the grad scheme, but cannot take it up at the advertised time.
The Culture
Two virtual takeaway nights were organised.
