The Role
My placement year was great. Through out the year I was able to experience different areas of the business aswell as focusing on my personal development. Enterprise gives employees their own responsibilities which allowed me to grow personally and professionally. In addition, due to the time and effort Enterprise put into their employees, it’s defiantly a company I’d recommend to apply for and working at. The skills and experience I gain was of high standard.
Enterprise operates on its core values , which are based around the customer and its employees. These values were emphasised throughout my placement and they gave me a feeling of being valued on every task I carried out. Enterprise carried out monthly reviews to go through what we can improve on and the achievements we’ve had in that month, and values our achievements highly, and on many occasion would reward employees for their good work.
My line manager would always give support and offer his guidance if I was ever stuck or needed questions answered. He also gave opportunities to raise any concerns or questions we had in our monthly reviews relating to any support we may need. Further to this, manager out our head office would email regularly to make sure we were doing well in our job and if there was any queries we had that they could look into.
I always had something to do at enterprise, there was never a full day and no two days were the same. I would either be serving a customer or on the phone to a customer or working through my personal development folder. There was also always opportunities to help out other colleagues so there was a chance to collaborate and teach others when there was maybe a quite day. But overall there was a great balance.
Once you’d learnt the ropes of the business and enterprise was confident in you. They would give you responsibility to run the branch. I was given this opportunity on many occasions, and I had to organise the day ahead, plan for the customer coming in and for the team to be prepared whilst ensuring we were hitting targets and goals. And take on any problems throughout the day. This was a great personality and skill developer.
The skills I improved upon and got from enterprise will carry me through my professional career and they are very transferable skills. Which is great because it shows enterprise have set me up for the future and potentially returning once I graduate. The placement has also taught me to be myself and be confident with your opinion or explanation, for example when presenting facts and data. Overall the trining given has helped improve myself greatly
The Company
The working environment was warm and welcoming with room for fun when it could happen. We had rewards through the days and weeks to keep motivation high and hit our targets for the month. We would also run games through the day with completions and rewards at the end of them to carry the team through some stessful times, we had secret Santa’s and Easter parties which meant I was always pleased to turn up to work
