The Role
Really enjoyable. Thrown in at the deep end, so great for those that love a challenge!
Really valued. More so that I was expecting. I was always included in team socials, and no question was ever too silly to ask.
We worked closely as a team so they were always there to guide me. We did a formal review of the placement at the end which was really useful for feedback.
So much busier than I thought I'd be, but still retained a great work life balance.
Again more responsibility than I was expecting, but it never felt that it was too much to handle!
It gave really practical experience, which helped me with my understanding a theory work undertaken at uni.
The Company
Friendly and social atmosphere, even better when someone inevitably brings in cakes!!
Well organised from the outset. Communication beforehand and throughout was appreciated.
I was able to attend all the same training the rest of the graduates in my team did. Often different members of the team would spend extra time running through the background/theory of the work we were undertaking, just for my benefit.
Flexi Time
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
Above 25 days holiday
I actually received my graduate job offer at the end of my placement.
The Culture
Yes, they were always organising different get togethers!
My costs were pretty low, but I was lucky enough to be able to live at home throughout.
The local town has plenty of good pubs for a friday night drink. Leicester, Derby, Nottingham and Birmingham within 30 mins of the Ashby office for a bigger night out.
Lots! They are keen on sport at FG, meaning lots is happening over the summer especially!
