Overview
My virtual experience was really good overall. On the first day we were introduced to teachfirst as a company and what their morals are. We were then put into groups to meet each other and we had to plan a debate. This was about whether sets should be in schools and we had to plan arguments and debate our position. Then on the second day we taught out own planned lessons and received feedback.
Skills
I have developed a lot more skills specifically relating to teaching and how to be a successful teacher. I developed teaching skills such as how to present clearly and how to make effective learning outcomes for a lesson. I developed my confidence in new situations as well as when introducing myself to other.
Business Insight
It was really interesting and made me realise how helpful and impactful teachfirst have been not only in the lives of the students they support but also within the lives of the teachers they train. They offer brilliant courses for post-graduate students looking for jobs as well as helping those who don't get the same opportunity as others.
Culture
The company culture was warm and welcoming. It had lots of different engaging activities for everyone to complete helping with building competencies. The atmosphere was great.
