Overview
I work at Filmbankmedia a company within Warner Media who license non theatrical titles internationally to many different sectors including Transport, Healthcare and STSL. On a daily basis I work closely with my team to request and order titles from a large variety of different studios for customers, I manage my own customers and ensure that they have everything they need for their systems. I also create Newsletters and availability lists for clients.
Skills
I have learnt so many new skills: - I can now use excel proficiently. -I have greatly improved upon my confidence and ability to present my ideas and thoughts clearly to a group. - My organisation skills have greatly improved. - Warner Media hold workshops to help you improve on specific qualities you need in the work place such as presenting and writing formal emails.
Responsibilities
My placement gave me a lot of independence they allow you to be involved in many important projects and give you you're own set projects to do, although they offer a lot of support and help through this they treat you as though you are part of the team. They also give you your own accounts to take charge of and handle on your own which is a lot of responsibility.
Support & Guidance
I was offered a lot of support, although I was working from home my line manager was extremely helpful and would pick up a call whenever I needed help. My team as a whole offered guidance and we would have team meetings every week to catch up. They were very eager to help with any problems that arose which was great. I am very appreciative of the guidance and mentor-ship I received working at this company.
Culture
The company culture is great, before lock down began I would meet up with all the interns and socialise. I know that when in the office the company offer many events and activities but due to COVID this wasn't possible as we were working from home. The atmosphere is very friendly and every one is very nice and supportive of each other. You get offered volunteer days to take off work and they have charity initiatives that the interns get involved with. They have diversity workshops and seminars also.
Your Impressions
I really enjoyed working here as it has given me a lot of skills to take with me into the work place in future. The team was amazing, extremely helpful and friendly. It met my expectations to an extent as I wish we could have experienced going into the office and all the opportunities that came with it but due to COVID this was not possible. I would definitely go back and work here if I got the opportunity it is a great place to work and learn.
Yes
Make sure you learn about the company before you go to the interview I felt this was really helpful for my presentation on my assessment day and it gave me a good insight. Try not to get too nervous, be confident and just enjoy the experience.
