Overview
A 2 day insight program. On the first day had an introductory talk, a talk from colleagues from sustainability and global philanthropy. We were introduced to markets and had an opportunity to network with analysts. On the second day we delivered presentations in groups, did a trading simulation and networked with seniors.
Skills
We were able to improve our communication skills through the group presentation exercise as well as practice networking
Business Insight
I was able to learn more about the roles available in markets such as in equity, fixed income.. etc but would like to have more of an insight into other areas of banking as well.
Culture
As it was online, I did not get a real feel for the general company atmosphere but they did emphasise that they promote diversity and inclusion and also the importance of getting a work-life balance
Your Impressions
Some sessions were more useful than others such as the networking sessions and group presentation exercise. Other sessions such as the personal brand session and mindfulness session (meditation) I found less useful. However, overall I did enjoy the insight thoroughly.
Yes
Grades are less important to JP Morgan than interview and communication skills.
