Overview
The insight was 2 days long and if had a well defined schedule which consisted of multiple workshops in different CS areas (cybersecurity, frameworks, TDD etc.) as well as an application-related presentation. In between the workshops, we had to complete 3 main tasks/projects on a platform provided by the company.
Skills
I have extended my experience in Python programming and SQL, as well as learned new skills: programming in Java, Test Driven Development.
Business Insight
The insight was pretty focused on the SDE roles, but I was also given insight to the possibility of applying for the Quantitative Researcher/Trader role. I had the opportunity to talk with SDE Graduates and I found it very interesting to hear the different specializations they chose, which gave me the impression that there is a great variety of options for the SDE role.
Culture
Since the Insight was online I didn't get a good view of the atmosphere, but I could deduce from the sayings of the employees that the atmosphere is great, since everyone gets along. I found the company culture appealing, as they support the belief that anyone can help anyone, and everyone should be open for a chat.
Your Impressions
Overall the 2 days insight was pretty involved and engaging, since I worked on 3 mini-projects, 2 of which I found interesting to work on. I didn't enjoy all of the workshops, but there were a few that kept my attention - especially the one regarding Test Driven Development and Frameworks.
Yes
The CV is important - it should be concise and well written. Include projects as they are regarded well.
