Overview
Students were presented with a good deal of workshops on topics such as: Agile Development, Test-Driven-Development, Cyber Security and much more. Besides these, students were given coding challenges to solve on Forage, which were built around the topics discussed at the workshops.
Skills
Definitely. I've learnt a lot about J.P. Morgan: the business side of tech, what is the environment inside the firm, what are its goals, what technologies are endorsed, how to approach a J.P. Morgan interview and much more. I have also broadened my technical knowledge through the various workshops and tasks.
Business Insight
It was intuitive and interesting. Graduate sessions were provided in order to get a real feel as to what are the expectations and workflow at J.P. Morgan. Also, the sessions about Code for Good were also insightful and offered a lot of information about the firm.
Culture
The company is multi-cultural in its mindset, having employees from all around the world. Having said that, the company has shown that employees always feel integrated, colleagues are friendly and open to help/talk and everyone is welcomed to work there.
Your Impressions
I would definitely go back to such an insight. I have enjoyed all the sessions and the work required, although I felt the work a bit overwhelming and not doable in the interval of time allocated to it.
Yes
I would advise them to come prepared, to have their CV sorted out and be ready for the interview technical questions.
