The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed my work placement, I was given many tasks, all the staff were very friendly and I also took part in a Mock Trial which invovled a genuine QC Judge.
My department buddy, Matthew Chapman and the other colleagues I worked with were very friendly and helpful.
My department buddy, Matthew Chapman and the other colleagues I worked with gave me clear concise instructions to complete tasks I was set. They were also very reliable in being there for me.
I had a very good balance of work on a daily basis. Some of the tasks were challenging and took a while to figure out however i enjoyed this as it pushed out of my comfort zone - a situation in which I usually work at my best.
I was given tasks that involved large areas of responsibility. An example of this is reading through contracts between two parties. This task required a lot of responsibility as I was in charge of finding something in the contract which would be beneficial to the firm and the client.
Key skills such as research and presenting were vastly improved. I spent a lot of time researching and the guidance I was given enabled me to research quickly and more efficiently. My presentation skills were improved by taking part in the mock trial as it involved presenting to large audineces as well as a senior judge.
The Company
The atmosphere in my office suited me well as there was little noise and distractions so i could get on with the work in hand.
All students were provided a timetable which outlined events which would be taking place on the day. This proved very useful in knowing what to expect and preparing for that situation.
