    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
  • Each day we heard from a variety of speakers about their role within their firm and advice for students at out stage of the application process. We also had opportunities to ask questions. Furthermore, there were interactive workshops explaining more about the route to qualifying as a solicitor and what to expect if we move forward with the application process

    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes. I feel that the programme was extremely beneficial to making me more comfortable with networking online as well as equipping me with knowledge I can take forward in my pursuit of a career in law. The programme gave me the opportunity to carry out simulated tasks similar to that of trainee lawyer as well as building upon interview and application skills.

    Business Insight

  • 3. What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
  • I felt that the Graduate Recruitment Team did an amazing job at explaining the format of DLA Piper's business and detailing the options available to us within the firm both now and in the future. Often such large firms can have very complex management systems but everything was broken down such that I feel I received an excellent insight into DLA Piper both as a business and a potential workplace.

    Culture

  • 4. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • I honestly felt that DLA Piper had one of the most open, inclusive and welcoming company cultures I have been exposed to in an insight programme. Initiatives for diversity and inclusion were extensively detailed to us and felt like a proper concern and interest of those involved, rather than simply being a tick-box initiative. Furthermore, every speaker and member of the Grad Team seem genuinely approachable. I would love to work here in the future.
