Overview
The Insight Week was with the Equity Research Team and featured networking sessions, shadowing, project (producing a company snapshot and calculating some metrics). The week also included group assessments, individual assessment and interviews.
Skills
Learnt how to calculate some multiples. Learnt lots about the culture of the firm. Practiced networking skills.
Business Insight
it was extremely useful as we were given overviews of investment banking, equities and equity research as well as many of the different divisions within equity research e.g. Biotech and Pharma.
Culture
The culture was the main thing of the event. You will learn how dramatically different the culture at Jefferies is to other banks (in a good way). You will learn about the lean and flat structure and the highly entrepreneurial and growing environment.
Your Impressions
I thoroughly enjoyed the insight, everything apart from the 6:45am start!
Yes
The culture is everything, show passion and make sure you suit the company, technicals come later and you can be taught that but not personality.
