Overview
Different activities to gain an insight into the company and the desks such as work shadowing, and different workshops to gain valuable skills such as a stock pitch workshop or how to read the financial times. We also had the opportunity to network with people from the business.
Skills
Definitely! I learnt how to properly do a stock pitch, as well as the roles of the different desks and what they do in more depth. I also learnt some technical terms and improved my networking skills.
Business Insight
It was very helpful, especially when thinking about what I would be more interested in doing in my career as we got to do a bit of work shadowing.
Culture
It was amazing! Everyone was very welcoming and helpful and when talking about Jefferies, everyone highlighted how great the culture was, very horizontal and entrepreneurial, with access to senior people and given responsibility from early on.
Your Impressions
I have taken other insights and they got boring at times, but because at Jefferies all the workshops were so interactive and useful, I enjoyed every part of it.
Yes
The culture is very different from other places and they pride themselves in that so take that into account. But I feel like as long as you are genuine and show your true personality you will do okay.
