    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
  • The recruitment team organised a fantastic week, with multiple 1.5h talks with women from all key parts of the business to give us a better understanding of the work they carried out. There were also coffee chats and buddies where you were in smaller groups able to ask more tailored questions and have conversations with analysts. There was plenty of opportunity to ask questions.

    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • We were given a crash course introduction to Investment Banking on our first day in order to have a foundation for the rest of the week and better understanding of the roles within the business. There was also a group project you had to prepare and present on the last day where you had the opportunity to apply skills and attempt an M&A evaluation.

  • 8. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Rothschild & Co
  • They definitely look for individuals who will be up for the challenge. Motivation and determination and enthusiasm are key. Prior knowledge in finance is not required but there is in fact a steep learning curve and long hours at times, so I think the most important thing is to demonstrate you are excited and willing to learn and grow.
