Overview
The Early Insight Into Technology Program consisted of talks made by senior and junior employees, workshops, meetings with recruiters, building small applications using java and python, and solving questions on the Secure Code Warrior platform.
Skills
I have learned about the different industries J.P. Morgan is involved in and the countless opportunities for its employees to learn. I also learned about various security attacks and the way they can be prevented. In addition, I improved my knowledge of Java and Python by building real life projects.
Business Insight
We have been given a presentation of all the sectors within the bank. In addition, we have met employees from different branches who explained their role at the company. J.P. Morgan claims there are countless opportunities within the company and employees are encouraged to move between teams to build their skillset and constantly grow.
Culture
Employees seem to be very friendly and approachable. The company encourages employees to learn and move between sectors. J.P. Morgan funds courses as well as university degrees for its employees in order to build their skillset. Working hours seem reasonable (may be longer or shorter depending in the sector you work in) and all employees I have met claim that the working conditions at JP are relatively good compared to their previous experiences.
Your Impressions
Even though I found the Insight quite stressful due to the projects I worked on, I enjoyed the talks and most of the workshops. Everyone at JP was very friendly and the senior managers encouraged us to send them questions after the meeting for more insights. I also enjoyed talking to the engineers on the project support line. They were very helpful and they gave me loads of insights about the company.

If you are looking for an internship/graduate scheme then it's worth remembering that it JPMorgan they care about how passionate you are rather than what you have on your CV. You don't need to be an expert in everything - you need the basic knowledge of CS concepts + a field or two that you are interested in
