Overview
Four-day virtual internship. Introduction to Global & Capital Markets, Private Banking and Investment Banking. Actively engaged in cross-division interactive tasks and sessions Presented findings of Sales case study to Executive Directors within the division Networked with analysts, associates and senior representatives across various divisions
Skills
I developed my networking and interpersonal skills. I naturally developed my communication skills - learnt how to be more concise. Developed my analytical and presentation skills working on case studies and relaying that information to overseers
Business Insight
It was one of the most interesting parts of the week. I didn't know how vast the divisions in the back stretched to. I really enjoyed learning about the potential for growth in the company.
Culture
Unfortunately, I did not get much insight into the culture of the company from the representatives. They just mentioned 'culture' and not much else. The majority of the time I had to infer about the culture by personally observing the representatives. That being said, the general atmosphere was very positive and inviting.
Your Impressions
I enjoyed the insight to a large extent. The experience was enlightening and positive. I feel much more informed about banking/finance in general.
Yes
Make sure you are informed about general news and topics in the industry, it will help with discussions. For applicants with a non-finance background, don't fret, the questions are not particularly technical. Rather, they want to know how you think.
