Overview
On average it has been a 9-5:30 program. Each day, we have received insights from different business areas and employees of various levels of seniority. The first two days were more insight-focused, however we partook in various simulations on the following days.
Skills
One of the simulations was an Amplify Hackathon, which introduced me to the basics of Python. I also learnt how to use a typical day trading platform interface.
Business Insight
While it was a divisional programme, it was great that we could get an insight into all of the different business areas where internships are possible.
Culture
From what I would have expected and I suppose the stereotypes surrounding people in the finance industry, it was definitely a pleasant surprise. There was one particular employee (I don't know if I can say their name for privacy reasons) who came across as extremely genuine, and that there was no barrier or front being put up. That was really encouraging.
