    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
  • Most of the day was spent hearing from women from across EY about their career journeys and working on a case study in small groups. Additionally, there were also skills sessions with guest speakers a session dedicated to learning about EY's diversity and inclusion strategy.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • The skills sessions throughout the day helped me learn a lot about how to approach networking and creating my own personal brand. They were really useful and I will definitely be using what I learnt throughout my career journey. Moreover, the case study work was a really good way to develop communication and teamwork with other attendees as well as providing an insight into the skills needed for a career in assurance.

    Business Insight

  • 3. What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
  • I came away with a really good insight and awareness into what EY does and the roles available. The structure of the business was explained really well and we got a concise explanation of what every service line of the business did on a day to day basis.

    Culture

  • 4. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • The company culture of EY was extremely friendly. Everyone was so welcoming and helpful. I got the impression that the people leading the sessions were genuinely interested in me and helping me with my future career. Moreover, the sessions dedicated to diversity and inclusion at EY were really insightful - it was refreshing to see a company so dedicated to consistency improving its inclusiveness.

  • 5. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I enjoyed the insight event a lot. I found it really inspiring to hear from so many accomplished women and I loved the overall atmosphere. I felt comfortable and engaged throughout the day. Overall, the event exceeded my expectations.

  • 8. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to EY
  • Just go for it! The application process is quite long but gives you a feel for the role and the company. It gives you insight into your own strengths and weaknesses which is really useful and a nice personal touch.
