Overview
The day involved a series of talks by female employees about EY as a company as well as the tax service line with the opportunity to ask questions throughout. There was also a panel Q and A from recent graduates within different sub-service lines in tax and a group case study exercise looking at changes to taxation following COVID-19 in different countries.
Skills
I developed my questioning skills further when listening to the talks as well as communication skills with others in my group when analysing the case study to draw out and discuss relevant points.
Business Insight
It was really helpful as it helped bust some misconceptions that I had about certain sub-service lines and roles. I also learnt about further opportunities within certain roles such as travel and working with certain clients.
Culture
The company culture was extremely friendly and helpful with any queries that I had. It was clear that the company cares a lot about your own personal development and facilitating the career path that you wish to persue.
Your Impressions
I really enjoyed the insight and was very excited to have been accepted onto it. I really liked hearing about the networking opportunities, activities at the company beyond the 9-5 day job and how much they stress the importance of gender equality.
