Overview
We were given talks by various partners and trainees on specific aspects of the firm from Pro-bono, to insight into the experience of trainees. We were also given application skills and tips by the graduate recruitment team as well as, given insight into the firms stance and push for diversity and inclusion.
Skills
Gained an insight into transactional contracts, through the simulation task of drafting an email advising a client on the transaction of a company, through due diligence and drafting. I have gained a further understanding into the requirement of commercial awareness, organisation and structure within law.
Business Insight
It was very insightful learning about the way in which DLA push for diversity and inclusion through their networks and their heavy focus on pro bono, which they encourage trainees to take part in from the start.
Culture
Everyone was very welcoming, positive and uplifting of each other and the participants. The culture seemed very friendly and encouraging of teamwork and mentorship than purely individual work.
Your Impressions
Was very enjoyable, and gained insight into different areas of the firm. Also I appreciate that despite the programme being online, DLA catered to our lunches through Just Eat vouchers per day.
Yes
Networking is so important, in addition to practicing psychometric tests to aid in perfecting application process.
