The Role
This placement was a good mix of high quality work in a supportive environment with great social events too. A very enjoyable experience
The people in my department were all very welcoming and seemed to really appreciate the work which I produced for them.
My supervisor reviewed each piece of work I completed with me so I could see where I had gone wrong and how I could improve. She also set me a similar follow-up task so that I could apply what I had learned from the first time.
I was provided with plenty of work which I was able to manage at my own pace.
I was given a deal of responsibility over my own work but also very much under the guidance of my supervisor as I was only in the department for one week.
The research skills we received will prove very useful in my degree and the drafting skills I gained from the tasks I completed in my department will I hope stand me in good stead for starting my training contract.
The Company
Overall the office was calm but friendly.
This placement was very well organised.
The full day of training at the start of the week was very impressive and demonstrated the importance the firm place upon training and development - even with only a week long placement.
I have been offered a training contract following my vacation scheme.
The Culture
Everyone seemed to get on really well - Project Nabarro particularly helped us all the get to know each other better.
It seemed relatively expensive but all very nice.
We went to a nice pub for the pub quiz.
There seemed to be plenty of opportunity to get involved in activities outside work - particularly if we had been on a 3week scheme.
