Skills
I have learnt how to use Microsoft Visio and had a better understanding in Excel. Project and Time management, how to work efficiently as a team and the importance of work life balance
Responsibilities
Yes, I was treated like any other full time design engineers in my team which was a perfect opportunity to learn lots and a taster of what its like working as a design engineer.
Support & Guidance
I have received a lot of support and guidance, my manager has daily catch up calls with me and check in and make sure I have enough to do but not too much, I enjoy having just daily chats with my manager even if it's not work related. I have bimonthly catch ups with my mentor as well and she makes sure I can contact her whenever I come across any problems
Culture
I love how I can be myself and everyone I have come across or worked with are friendly and always happy to help out. Even though I have done majority of my placement working from home, I have made friends and enjoyed my time in the company
Your Impressions
I have really enjoyed my placement as it has given me a lot of opportunities on exploring different teams as well as assisting in volunteering projects which I am passionate about.
Yes
Be yourself, and I know how nervous it is applying for jobs, one tip I got from my manager which i loved a lot is saying something wrong is better than saying nothing in an interview
