Overview
Because the internship was online, a typical day would entail video presentations about the different divisions in the bank, break out rooms to get to know employees, and debates about current topics. At the end of the week I got to interview for a place in the 2022 summer internship.
Skills
Yes, I've deepened my knowledge of finance and banking and I've discovered new things that I can further explore; I've also got the opportunity to be a spokesperson for my team during a debate session.
Business Insight
It was a very thorough introduction to the divisions I chose: I learned about the inner workings of investment banking and global markets, what does a typical deal look like, and what an usual day looks like. Overall, it was a very good experience.
Culture
The general atmosphere was very welcoming. We had specific sessions focused on improvement and well-being and sessions about the company culture, the various associations run by employees, and overall I felt like it was a great fit for me.
Your Impressions
I really enjoyed my spring insight. I learned lots of valuable things and got to meet and talk with both very brilliant peers and employees in my preferred divisions, which have given me lots of insights.
Yes
Be yourself, be interested about what you're learning, and be focused on what you're doing. Authenticity and open mindedness are very much valued, and of course prepare yourself for the assessment day!
