Overview
Insight Week was virtual so we spent the days listening to talks from head of each department gaining an insight into the structure and functioning of Citi. Later in the week we gain a more focused insight into the department we applied for and learnt about recent deals and clients.
Skills
Developed networking skills, financial analysis skills and have learnt about the IPO and merging process.
Business Insight
I found this part of the insight most valuable as banks differ inter structure of the investment bank and it was interesting to see how the IB division is organised. It was also interesting to see how different departments interact with each other
Culture
The company culture really stood out during the insight. It seemed inclusive, flexible and global which was stressed by everyone that spoke
Your Impressions
I did enjoy the insight but I thought that I didn't get the networking opportunities that I expected because of the online format. Also, I thought that more focus on the business area you applied for would be useful.
Yes
Remain honest in your interview and treat it like a conversation as your passion will come through a lot more. Make sure you know basic financial knowledge and keep up to date with the news and how it applies to the investment bank.
