Overview
The spring internship overall was a very insightful experience full of useful information about the regulator, panels with carefully selected employees in both senior and junior positions and personal development sessions. We were able to take part in a real assessment centre on the second day that included presenting to a manager for a chance to get on the 10-week internship at the FCA. We received useful feedback on the third day with personal and career development tips also. My desire to join the public sector within finance services has increased.
Skills
The personal, career development and the feedback sessions helped me improve skills such as presenting, willingness to learn and interviewing skills.
Business Insight
It was good to know there’s people willing to help the next set of young people entering the industry. Speakers made it clear that FCA encourages new talent to move around and explore different roles within the firm and mentioned the growing opportunities available to participate in projects that support the public in issues such as diversity which I have a huge interest in supporting.
Culture
Friendly, honest and transparent.
Your Impressions
I enjoyed the experience and happy I took the time out to participate.
