Overview
Learning about the FCA and its role in the Financial Services, with welcomes from senior members of the team. We then learned about different stages of the Assessment Centre and how to do well in it, before the Assessment Centre was held on the second day.
Skills
I learned about what was looked for in presentations, interviews, and written exercises - how to use my skills to apply them to these tasks in the Assessment Centre.
Business Insight
It was insightful learning about the FCA's role in the Financial Services industry, and the roles available in different departments and what they involved.
Culture
Everyone was really friendly and it felt like those running the programme genuinely wanted us to succeed. They talked about the networks and the environment of the FCA, and how it is possible to maintain a work life balance in a role working there.
Your Impressions
I really enjoyed it. It was insightful and gave a lot of information, both on the FCA and the general Financial Services industry. The people hosting and talking were friendly and showed off a good company culture. It far exceeded my expectations of the talks.
Yes
Be yourself, and really know the FCA's mission and values and how you can contribute to those. Ask a lot of questions - everyone is always willing to answer any question you put forward.
