Overview
My role involves assisting the Digital Stores managers in my team. This includes; analysing the results of promotions on Excel, analysing data across the regions to see the effects of COVID and other factors on sales and creating presentations that outline new changes to the digital landscape.
Skills
I have massively improved my excel skills. I have to use it daily in this role and now feel quite proficient at it. I have also improved my presentation skills, communication skills, business acumen and time management.
Responsibilities
When it comes to data analysis, there can be a lot of responsibility put on the interns. The managers we provide our results to will then present those to the leadership team, usually without doing a thorough check. So they place immense trust in our ability to do the work correctly.
Support & Guidance
My team was incredibly supportive during the placement. Especially starting work from home can be daunting as it can seem difficult to ask small and sometimes stupid questions, but the team were always happy to have a call and talk through things. I formed a really good relationship with my line manager so have felt very comfortable going to him for any sort of guidance.
Culture
Everyone I interacted with at Disney has been kind, embracing, supportive and interesting. There is a real focus on working together as a team and appreciating everyones unique abilities.
Your Impressions
I have immensely enjoyed my placement at Disney. I always felt comfortable talking to my colleagues and the work I did was usually engaging. And as someone who is really interested in films, it has been an amazing opportunity to learn more about the industry.
Yes
I think its really important to come across as genuine in the interviews. The hiring team are looking at finding good personalities.
