Overview
Involved in all stages of the recruitment process, from posting an ad on Disney Careers right up until offer stage. Managing my own few roles that I had to screen applications for and send shortlists to hiring managers. Heavily involved in intern recruitment with ample opportunities to get involved in other projects!
Skills
Communication, stakeholder management, time management, email etiquette, responsibility, and becoming a mental health champion
Responsibilities
Yes I was given an immense amount of responsibility! Naturally working for such a huge organisation you think the work you do won't matter but that's not the case at all! They give you so much responsibility and leave it up to you to manage
Support & Guidance
Everyone in my team was super supportive and encouraging. If I had any questions my manager would always answer straight away and will be more than willing to help. You could reach out to anyone and they would happily help. I was taken through everything right from the beginning and the time was taken to ensure I understood everything
Culture
The culture was really welcoming. If you had a question or wanted to say something you were always able to. The culture was very relaxed in that you could reach out to someone senior in the team and it would always be welcomed. There were several opportunities for other projects for me to get involved in and social events for the interns
Your Impressions
I LOVED my internship and would really recommend everyone apply and don't get put off by the name. Even though my internship has been virtual I have loved every second of it. Self management was the biggest learning curve for me and I am so glad I got this opportunity!
Yes
GO FOR IT! The process for me was: apply, telephone interview, assessment centre, offer. When applying make sure you have a cover letter that highlights what skills you have that would be beneficial for the internship you are applying for. Show passion in your cover letter. Go into it open minded and willing to learn!
