Overview
The daily tasks range from running financial reports on an ad-hoc basis, analysing specific markets or retailers within Disney's Fashion and Home business, processing quarterly statements - a lot of excel and problem solving!
Skills
I have learnt many skills - the dynamics of a virtual workplace, zoom meetings, drafting emails, the structure of a 9-5 job. The specific role has strengthened my excel abilities, problem solving and attention to detail.
Responsibilities
Yes - this is one of the many amazing aspects of being an intern at Disney, we are given many responsibilities within our teams and our work is truly valued! We really feel welcomed from the day we start.
Support & Guidance
I received support on a daily basis and was always encouraged to ask questions and felt completely comfortable in doing so. It is a learning environment.
Culture
So friendly and welcoming - everyone is so helpful and supportive. The culture of inclusivity and diversity really shines through with the town halls and virtual panels, always keeping the conversation alive.
Your Impressions
I have enjoyed it, but this has been limited compared to what it would have been like going into the office and the day-to-day interactions with the other interns and teams. It is harder to feel a sense of community at home but given the circumstances I have enjoyed it and felt a part of the company!
Yes
Focus on Soft as well as Hard skills - a well rounded and friendly person will go far!
