Overview
This role involves helping to facilitate the production, manufacturing, marketing and distribution of film on a physical format. Everyday if filled with various meetings and daily tasks such as sending out information to trade partners, processing returns, updating important documents (such as annual calendars) and tracking sales data.
Skills
I have learnt many various skills throughout this placement such as communication, team work and time management. I have had to speak to many new people so this has also built my confidence and ability present any new ideas I have. I have also had to present information in various meetings which has improved my public speaking and presentation skills tremendously.
Responsibilities
Yes, I was given a lot of responsibility. One of the biggest responsibilities I was given was sending out important information to trade partners. I had to insure all the data was correct and respond to any queries that any trade partners had. I was also in charge of updating important documents such as calendars and schedules.
Support & Guidance
I received a lot of support throughout this placement. I had weekly calls with my line manager, daily calls with my team, skype and teams chats and my manager was always available for a call if I needed help. My University was also very helpful and I had 3 month and 6 month calls with my placement leader which was also very helpful.
Culture
The company was extremely friendly and had a very welcoming atmosphere. Everyone made me feel very welcome and always involved even though I did the whole year virtually.
Your Impressions
I loved my placement year and I am very sad to be leaving. The only downside was not being able to physically go to the office due to the pandemic, but I still really enjoyed the year.
