Overview
Arranging and attending a variety of meetings, both internal and with production companies, to listen / take minutes. Sorting and saving of files such as production call sheets, budgets, schedules. Responsible for aiding invoicing and budget comparisons, as well as general tasks/research and projects to help with the management of Disney productions.
Skills
Gained experience in many industry-standard systems and documents, as well as a deeper understanding of the entire process- including Legal, finance, marketing, creative, security, etc.
Responsibilities
I was really impressed with the responsibility Disney placed with me in my internship, which made me feel valued and that I was really helping the team and progressing the projects. For example, I was responsible for obtaining and sharing production information and documents for several countries.
Support & Guidance
Daily calls with my colleagues to talk through any issues we were running into that day and tasks we could help each other with. People were always reachable on Teams message and willing to help me for everything. A really welcoming and helpful environment.
Culture
Very supportive of each other and willing to help out. Workload can get a lot for everyone when productions get busy but everyone's understanding of each other and have meetings to discuss priorities and align with progress.
Your Impressions
Absolutely loved my internship! The workload is considerably more than university which is expected, however the support was there and the skills I have learned are invaluable and have prepared me for a career much more than my university course ever has. Every day is different and interesting- and being involved in the new Disney projects is really exciting!
Yes
Be enthusiastic and adaptable! Good organisation and timekeeping skills are important, as well as experience with Word/Excel/PDF.
