Overview
Using agile methodologies, working in a professional software development team, serving a fast paced business. Conducting technical business analysis on vital business applications. Involved in researching, designing and prototyping new applications.
Skills
Gained lots of experience using .NET and C# and also gained an idea of how professional software development teams work day to day. Developed my existing skills such as: time management, adaptability, teamwork, communication and problem solving.
Responsibilities
I was given much more responsibility than I expected during an internship, I was treated like an actual member of the team, rather than just an intern. This meant that I learned a lot over my whole internship.
Support & Guidance
I was given lots of support and guidance, every member of the team was willing to help with any issues I had and I was always encouraged to utilize the skillsets in the team so that I could really make the most of my internship.
Culture
My internship was virtual, however even virtually it was clear that the company culture and general atmosphere at Disney is great. There is always new opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work and to meet new people across the company.
Your Impressions
I thoroughly enjoyed my internship. I really got on with my team and I also found the work I was doing really enjoyable. I learned a lot this year that I could not have learned if I had not done a placement.
Yes
My advice to others applying for The Walt Disney company would be to show them you are willing to learn. I think that the biggest thing that is looked for isn't someone who knows everything already, but instead it is someone who is willing to learn and really make the most of this opportunity.
