Overview
Working with the wider marketing team to create in store visibility for launches as well as permanent store display material.
Skills
I have learnt a lot about my role in merchandising specifically as well as the wider marketing team and the business as a whole. I have also developed professional skills in both communication and presenting.
Responsibilities
I have been given a lot of responsibility on my placement year, which has gradually increased since the beginning. I now manage projects and present to the team for sign off. Day to day responsibilities cover admin, communication with suppliers, attending installs and store visits
Support & Guidance
I have received a lot of support from my line manager and the other teams I have worked along side. Networking is encouraged and everyone within the business takes time to assist and guide you
Culture
Company culture is extremely work focused, especially with remote working. It has been a challenging year to feel involved but my team have made an effort to communicate and hold a few virtual events.
Your Impressions
I have really enjoyed my L'Oreal placement, despite the virtual nature of the year. I have felt like i have contributed to the team and the overall experience has enhanced my knowledge and skills for the future.
Yes
My advice would be research the company, such as their sustainability policy and their workplace values. Make sure you are up to date on at least one industry trend and any events in the news that may impact the business.
