    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • As a technical sales engineer I help salespeople sell technical products in various sectors. I explain all technical aspects of a product simply and provide post-sales support. Technical engineers may attend exhibitions, meet with clients, and liaise with production engineers. I also make product improvement recommendations and decide on the right products depending on their requirmenets

  • I developed new skills such as: communication & presentation skills, time managing and team work. I also managed to work under pressure and multitask too

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • I was in charge with so many things, such as: generating weekly, monthly and yearly reports for my manager and my team; I trained other colleagues globally or from different departments, I was given the responsibility/opportunity to decide on housing & filters for water systems and do some engineering calculations on my own

  • I received fully support every time I was asking for it. I was never left without a sounding board

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • I enjoyed the fact that as a student I was not considered less important and I was fully appreciated just as a permanent employee, every time I sounded out my ideas people listened to them. I like the fact that Pall employs people from everywhere and it's great to be part of such a diverse team
