Overview
My day to day role would be supporting the wider visual merchandising team and Marketing department on functions to support launches and promotions instore.
Skills
My professional skills have dramatically improved from organisation, communication, software skills, presenting skills, confidence. Skills I wouldn't have developed from a degree alone.
Responsibilities
I was given lots of responsibility through solo projects which I was able to fully own. However they are very supportive so will not push you into things you are not yet ready for. its a gradual process of gaining confidence and skills.
Support & Guidance
the company have a brilliant team dedicated to help should you need it. Luckily i didnt need to make use of this. My mangers and wider team were super helpful and supportive and you find lots of people have been interns through to grads so can support you and understand what you are going through. there is also a review process throughout the year to track achievements and progress.
Culture
the culture of loreal is very supportive and driven for success. Lots of movement internally into new roles and lots of room for growth. The world of loreal is very busy and fast moving so definitely one for someone who is up for a challenge and loves the London lifestyle. In a pre covid world i believe would have been even busier and fast moving.
Your Impressions
I have really enjoyed the challenges at loreal. Unfortunately due to covid my role was very much affected and i could not go out and enjoy the field base tasks as much. I have completely grown as a professional and on a personal level from working for a year and moving to London. Loreal has a huge part to play in that. A really enjoyable year all together - just a shame about all the lockdowns.
Yes
reach out to former interns in the same field at loreal on linked in to gain insight into the roles. Be confinement and enthusiastic. If successful really get involved in anything and everything. Work load can become overwhelming but always reach out to your manager for support if this is the case. Have fun and enjoy your time!
