Responsibilities
I was given a lot of responsibility at different times during my placement, though I always had a team around to support and was not thrown in the deep end.
Support & Guidance
I received great support and guidance from my team during the placement. I had regular calls and so the remote aspect was not a problem.
Culture
The company was very corporate in terms of its structure as is to be expected, however there was also an effort made to engage socially between all levels of seniority. For example, on our weekly coffee break even our SVP attended, likewise with virtual team social events. The atmosphere was good and working between teams was encouraged.
Your Impressions
Despite the fact that the majority of my placement was virtual, I really enjoyed the experience. At Atos I was able to work on big projects which had real meaning for the company. In addition to this, the graduate, intern and apprentice community offered many opportunities to get involved with D&I Networks. I would return to Atos and I have been very pleased with the overall placement.
Yes
The interview process consisted of standard tests (numerical reasoning etc) and standard interview questions, I then had a video interview with pre-prepared questions followed by an invitation to an assessment centre. The assessment centre was actually quite an enjoyable day and was not too stressful. One bit of advice I would give to a new starter at Atos is to get involved with as many networks and initiatives as you can outside of your day job.
