The Role
It was very enjoyable as it offers an extensive insight into the FSA and the future of financial regulation.
The staff there were very friendly and were very willing to answer any questions that I had.
They talked a lot about the graduate scheme and there was even an assessment centre information session, which was very insightful. The staff there were very willing to answer any questions that we had.
There was a very packed schedule but they broke it up nicely with breaks in between. The day also finished fairly early (around 4-5pm).
As the programme was just to offer us an insight into the FSA we weren't given any responsibility except being allowed to shadow employees in various divisions.
Very informative as I learnt a lot about the way the FSA is run, their function within the financial system and I also learnt about the future of financial regulation
The Company
The staff were very friendly and welcoming
There was a packed schedule and we learnt considering that the programme was only 3 days long.
There were a lot of presentations, which was good. But I would have preferred to do more work shadowing - I feel that this would have been more beneficial for my personal development.
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
The welcoming environment of the FSA makes it seem like a good place to start a career in finance.
The Culture
The other students were very friendly and we often went out in the evenings together
Canary Wharf is expensive but the FSA paid for our expenses
I'm sure the nightlife in Canary Wharf was adequate but we went back to the hotel in the evenings (Southwark) so didn't experience the nightlife In Canary Wharf.
We were given free evenings to what we pleased but there wasn't anything planned outside of work.
