Overview
On a day-to-day basis the firm gave us lots of information about the firm and how the firm assists clients in a fast-paced legal environment. There was a lot of interaction with buddies, mentors and graduate recruitment throughout.
Skills
I have learned how to network more effectively and now to work to very strict deadlines.
Business Insight
The firm really helped me understand the business and potential roles available.
Culture
The company culture was generally fast-paced but also friendly and supportive. The general atmosphere was supportive but the firm also expects good work from you.
Your Impressions
I really enjoyed the insight and getting to know the firm and the people more. The firm allowed us a trainee buddy and this was very beneficial overall. I learned a lot from my trainee buddy, particularly what is expected of me at the firm and how to fit into the world of work.
Yes
I would advise others to try and think outside the box. Shoosmiths value individuals with initiative and the ability to work collaboratively and under pressure. I would tell others to be themselves and show their enthusiasm.
