Overview
I am heavily involved in the reporting process each month, where I extract raw financial data from the financial software and manipulate it into a user friendly format for business stakeholders, so they understand their financial performance and whether they are under or above their budget. This involves communicating with other financial teams to understand what particular costs are relating to and using Excel. I also present these numbers back to the senior leadership teams.
Skills
By doing my role, I have gained and developed various softer skills such as presentation skills, communication skills, excel, networking, confidence and many more. Even though my experience has all being virtual, I've been able to get involved in various activities which have all contributed towards my development.
Responsibilities
I was given a lot of responsibility with the reporting process, which takes place each month. This is where I extract financial data from the system and manipulate it into a user friendly format and summarise it so senior leaders within the business can have an overall view of their finances each month.
Support & Guidance
I couldn't fault the support I was receiving from the Finance department and my team. Constant communication was involved and whenever I had a question, didn't understand something, or was concerned, the support was also provided from various people.
Culture
The company culture is very good. Everyone was very warm and welcoming when I first started and people are very friendly and easily approachable.
Your Impressions
I've had a really positive experience on placement, even though it has all been virtual. There has been a lot of opportunities which I have been able to get involved in and it has increased my visibility within Finance.
Yes
